World Aids Day

For more than 35 years, World AIDS Day has taken place on December 1. It reaffirms the rights of people living with HIV and calls for a society free from prejudice and discrimination. It also commemorates those who have died from AIDS-related illnesses. World AIDS Day is a moment of solidarity, awareness – and a call to stand together against ignorance and exclusion.

Campaign 2025

Discrimination and ignorance are closely linked. Even today, many people living with HIV experience prejudice and exclusion – often because only 22% of the population knows the principle U = U: under effective treatment, HIV is not transmissible.

To mark its 40th anniversary, the Swiss AIDS Federation is launching a nationwide poster campaign with three strong, typographic visuals – visible in train stations, on streets and in specialist institutions. Its message is clear: only knowledge protects against discrimination.

Key Messages

The 2025 World AIDS Day campaign focuses on knowledge, respect and solidarity. It emphasises that only knowledge protects against discrimination.

Main messages:
• Under effective treatment, HIV is not transmissible (U = U).
• Respect and equal treatment are the foundations of a caring and inclusive society.

Podcast “Fuck Fight Care”

To mark its 40th anniversary, the Swiss AIDS Federation is launching its first-ever podcast on the history of HIV and AIDS in Switzerland, coinciding with World AIDS Day.
The three-episode podcast Fuck Fight Care poignantly traces the epidemic from its beginnings to the present day.
